We certainly agree that Snowie’s AtS data is tainted. I included disclaimers in both my posts.

I examine and utilize Snowie AtS data nonetheless. It helps me select candidate plays for other-bot assignments; Snowie full AtS data is definitely superior to Gnu AtS evals (and likely to XG AtS evals as well – I don’t know yet). Moreover, it is beneficial in making cross-score and cross-bot comparisons, deciding whether to extend plays based on whether the other-bot results are reasonable or likely subject to variance (analogous to a market indicator that is weak but nonetheless provides you with additional information with which you can make better trading decisions), determining whether certain kinds of biases in bot comparisons are consistent, and whether certain Gnu files might be corrupt, etc.

That said, in the future I will put any Snowie AtS data in either a gray/muted typeface or a smaller font size so that it is still legible but can easily be ignored – once I can figure out how to do that!

Thanks for the explanation of the 41 GG rollout getting to 3024 trials. I doubt that rolling to an even cross-multiple makes much difference (though I tend to do it anyway), but it’s useful to know how the bots operate. (I probably misunderstood something in your explanation because I’m not sure how it would make sense to extend 3024 to 12960, but I don’t really need to know.)

Nack
