This is a tough call but I would hit. At this score a gammon loss is basically equivalent to a single loss and you're very unlikely to get backgammoned, so the downside of getting hit back isn't that bad. On the other hand, it is very annoying for you if White anchors on your 4-point.

Given that you're hitting, there's the question of how to hit. I agree with your choice of 9/4*. You're not trying for a closeout or a blitz; you're trying to roll your prime. 8/4*/3 or 8/4* 8/7 aren't very effective.
