If Black had already sprung a back checker into the outfield (e.g., Black is on the 18pt instead of the roof and has say a 31 to play), slotting the 7pt might well be right, because all his deuces (and then some) cover, but in the actual position, Blue threatens to make a six-prime with only 4 numbers (62 52, as David said).

With 8/7, Blue does increase his chance to point on the 3pt (adding 64 54), but those numbers would have leapt anyway.

With no checker sprung, I'm pretty strongly opposed to the slot. It adds little upside compared to the downside.
