I counted Blue as:

  • Inner boards as a zag on S3 & n-3, plus a block of six around n-1, for 5 - 1 = 4
  • The midpoint is 4(4) + 0(2) for the n2 chequer = 5.
  • Total = 9

    White's count is:

  • n3 & n17 both shift to the left, then the two four-stacks shift toward each other by one. Slightly convoluted, I know, but that's how I saw it.
  • Now we have 2 on S3 = 6,
  • plus 4 on S1 = 10,
  • plus 4 on n3 (= 2 * 1 because it's midway bewtween S0 & S1) for total of 12.

    For the actual play I went with 13/8 24/23. I didn't fancy the hit with no covers in place.
