NM = normal money, QM = quasi money. What about money game without Jacoby rule? Is that to be taken to be same as QM in that it is like beginning of a long match?

Yes, exactly. NM is a non-match money game with Jacoby. In QM (which is in a match), there are enough points to go for both players (and the cube level is on 1 or sufficiently low) so that proper checker play closely resembles NM, with some differences creeping in because there's no Jacoby.
