In Response To: Bridge player demographics (Daniel Murphy)

People get older and need something to do with their time. When they're younger they have other more things that they see as more important things to do with their time whether it being going out, still actively playing sports, starting a family, etc... Once you pass to the wind down phase of life you need to find something to occupy your time again - enter backgammon, enter bridge, etc... So we teach the youth now so that one the cycle completes there will be more players.
