British Open over until nex year (OT)

Both Michelson and Johnson gave us some excitement but in the end they couldn't keep it going. I started to think I had been too harsh with my assessment of Curtis Strange but he reinserted his not-so-rare ugliness in his synopsis of their play. Someone should remind him how many major championships he failed to win. In particular, some people are starting to give Johnson the label of 'choker' (although I didn't hear that exact word used, just hinted at). They should be the first to apologize when he wins a major, but as usual I won't hold my breath.

But the day (and week, and...) belong to Darren Clarke who has persevered through more of life's gauntlet than many. And three majors out of the last six for tiny Northern Ireland, a country who has experienced too much hardship themselves in most of our lifetimes. Clarke is certainly a deserving champion.
