It's easier than asking link posters to write at least 14 additional characters.

True, but I wasn't asking posters to do more work (nor would I, just to compensate for my personal weakness). In fact I think I was asking them to do less: just cut and paste the link.

However, Higonefive's solution seems to do what I want and doesn't involve getting posters to change their habits. That should work out best all the way around.
