Maybe I don't understand table limits, but this doesn't sound the same. Doesn't a table limit of $10/$40 mean that each point is worth $10 but you can win a maximum of $40 per game? Maximizing your expected cash winnings under such circumstances isn't the same as maximizing your probability of winning a four-point match. Your expected cash winnings are a weighted sum of terms of the form

(probability of the game ending with x points for you)*(x points)

but this kind of formula is not relevant to match play.

Another way to see it is that if the game ends and you win 2 points, then with table limits you "reset" to the beginning, but in a four-point match you're now in a state (2-away/4-away) that has no counterpart in the table-limit scenario. So the "meaning" of winning two points is different in the two cases.
