Live variance reduction tournament

Dear Johan
I had to consult with my shrink on this one:) He told me that dealing with loss by sheer bad luck is an essential element of the character forming process.
As is learning how to play both predator and prey roles in a very hazardous environment. And the immediate gratification, and decline of adrenaline levels, after a clean kill (without remorse even after so much luck, offering a drink, and sleeping well).
It will be a different approach to the game altogether, not letting the raw result count - influenced by fortune's whims, admitted - but some other, less variable definition of fairness.
I know at least two friends who stopped playing the game ten years ago, saying - slightly exaggerating - that their lifetime is too short for a result to be statistically relevant. But I doubt strongly they whould be charmed by the tournament format being proposed (indeed revealing the truth more precisely; but frustration will rise while systematically underperforming)
