My ruling would now have been one of the suggested ones on this forum.

You two live with your win (player-X) and your loss (player-Y) for round-1 and then you'd both forfeit a round-2 match sitting out until round-3 was ready to begin. Your two "already drawn" opponents for rnd-2 would play each other and the event would move on down the road.

As for culpability of the staff (Justin, Rynell & me) we definitely deserve some of the blame for "NOT MAKING THE ROUNDS " of the matches and catching your NON-CLOCKED match much earlier. A definite lesson learned here.

The director (Justin) had opted to PLAY in the tournament and did not walk around to check the matches. Rynell (staffing), was not alerted to the need for checking around. And, ME --I was also playing in this event (first time ever) and had turned over the reigns to Justin and Rynell --but did not mentor to them about the need for checking. ____patrick (the not very good MFIC this time)--mea culpa!
