Then what in the more realistic case that the open field is much larger than the masters field? Say 32 masters and 96 openers?

Well, the size of the open field is only relevant if the question is: what is the chance that at the next ABT tournament, Chuck Bower, for example, will be a finalist in both the Open and the Masters?

But not if the question is: what is the chance that one of the finalists in that Open will also be a finalist in that Masters.
