I disagree that I get more out of it this way. It's possible that others will get more out of it this way, but I think I do enough for the BGO community already.
I've voted blindly for quadruple whoppers before. When I do that, I really learn something, and I think the experience wouldn't be the same if I had read all the other opinions of other people first.
I absolutely agree that it wouldn't be the same; that's my point. Reading all the other opinions gives an entirely different experience that I can't get without reading the other opinions. It's that experience that I would want from the OLM.
I make no shortage of quadruple whoppers in other contexts that I learn a lot from. I don't need the OLM for that.
I think you mislabelled the thread title in the first place.
Not entirely. The original question was whether it was not only detrimental, but unethical, to read other posts and then post without announcing explicitly that you've done so.
