In Response To: bonus yahtzee: history found everyday... on EBay (Sam Pottle)

For starters, I never knew what the chips were for. When I played we never used them. (I suspect we didn't follow the rules to-a-T, either.)

My 1982 Triple Yahtzee set actually has a place ON THE BACK of the scoresheet for adding in the bonus Yahtzees (which are kept track of by three color chips, patriotic red, white, and blue).

That still leaves the question of "when were bonus yahtzees introduced?" up in the air since you can't simply look at the front side of a scoresheet from a certain era.

Maybe I'll just buy a set off EBay, but if I do I'm going to get the original (1956?) version. At least then we'll find out if bonus Yahtzees were part of the game from its inception.
