On Bar Cube Decision

(I never read comments before posting so I'm writing this without know what you said -- the position stands on it's own anyway.)
The redouble is the easy part and would be so even in a moneygame, IMO. Taking is tough. 15 numbers hit at least one blot. 16 numbers fan. 5-3 isn't so great but you just grit your teeth and play 13/10. 5-5 is good and hits on the 2-point (actually points-on-head there). 5-2 is the remaining roll which I would just play 7/5, putting the builder in a better spot.
Even when Blue fans White must cover. Even when White covers Blue should get several rolls to enter on the open point. Even when White covers and Blue can't enter for several rolls, White must get his checkers out of Blue's board, and usually this is done without much "time" to play on the homeside. I.e. rolls that don't escape run the risk of crunching the homeboard.
So, would I take as White? I think it's close at $-play, but maybe not even there. (OK, I'm taking at $; what I mean is that decision could be wrong.) Since White won't get as much use out of the cube at this score as for $, I'm passing here. When Blue puts up a fight (i.e. doesn't camp out on the bar) White's low-point board is going to hurt in the long run. (And if this is actually a take at this score -- all the more reason to have doubled... me, anyway. :)
