Please be sure to consider 'clocks on request' as the default position. Clocks required adds another level of difficulty for the director. Clocks on request doesn't force the TD to supply any clocks at all but allows all players that prefer to use a clock (and who brought their own) to do so. Having a small supply of clocks FOR SALE is also a very reasonable approach, instead of loaners. You need a clock? Buy it here!

IMO, anyone that 'objects' to using a clock in the Open or Masters event is playing in the wrong division. And if there is any event that DEMANDS clock usage, it is the doubles.
