My intention wasn't to denigrate Chiva. The point that I tried to make was that if a seasoned tournament director such as Chiva is only drawing 24 people to an ABT event ... and poker is drawing "thousands" then world backgammon leaders need to wake up and ask "what is wrong?". Albert Einstein once said that "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

In my opinion, one thing that is wrong is the Giants voting. It needs to be ditched and substituted with a a world ranking system like tennis, golf, and now poker.

Regarding my local club, if you read deeper into my club web site you'll find that I employ ABT rules and format ... specifically to prepare players for ABT events. Unfortunately, the nearest ABT event is Atlanta ... six hours away.
