In Response To: survey content suggestions (Daniel Murphy)

Great post, Daniel. Bottom line is that recently, annually, about 850 or so people have attended an ABT event in the US (and effectively those are all the US multiday tournaments anymore).

I suspect that in Europe (including Turkey and Cypress, which probably technically aren't 'Europe') this is (on a log scale) pretty close to the same number. Where else is the game contested on such a high scale (weekend event)? Japan, Australia (maybe), South America (maybe).

So, a game where many millions worldwide know how to play, only a couple thousand actually show up to the significant size events. The ratio of all players to those who attend is on the order of 10,000 to 1.

Is the conclusion to this post appear as obvious to others as it does to me?
