In the two games I love, results don't reward the expert sufficiently, unfortunately. This makes it tough, you don't see the results of the work in the winning.

If you lose motivation in the game, play and practice very little for a year or so, and return when the hunger for the game is back. Or do something better if the hunger does not come back. (I think Timothy's post is also a very good one).
