Nice, heartfelt post, Dave. Seems to run counter to some things that have been said here lately.

I suspect that there are not many other games where so many of the game’s elite share their knowledge so freely and so readily with the community as a whole.

I noticed this in 1992 when I returned from a 10 year absence -- the game had gotten a lot friendlier than in the Wild Wild West boom years of the 70's. I had my theory as to why but in reality we may never know, and sometimes just basking in the warmth is enough -- regardless of the knowledge of the radiation's source.
