2-point matches with doubling cube

I have no experiences with it, but believe I've seen some bitching about it on this board in the past.
Are you calling Jason Lee a bitch?
So Cal's Sho Sengoku (whose name I may have misspelled) was possibly the greatest all-time performer at this specialty format. He would reenter often, and almost as often (OK, I exaggerate, but only slightly) win the entire bracket. I watched him several times. He did NOT double immediately because he could extract errors out of his naive/overconfident opponents by waiting to cube. Unfortunately for backgammon he departed for the poker world a few years ago.
