All of this does NOT address the issue of a player's right to prevent transcription, recording, or dissemination of his match. Again, I maintain that Open Level Players should not have the right to prevent their matches from being recorded or analyzed. And I would like to see this as the policy of all backgammon ruling bodies.
I would also like to see a policy that the matches of novice and intermediate players not be recorded or analyzed without their permission (as this could be intimidating to players of that level and could deter some from attending and entering tournaments.)
I also believe the issue of on-line matches needs to be addressed. Do players have the right to restrict others' use of their matches and rating? If it is an on-line USBGF tournament, can and should the USBGF control the access to the matches? Can player A analyze his match with Player B and post, publicly, how Player B played?
I think we need to establish some standards in these areas.
