Picture, Cameras, Computers, Pads (long)

I can imagine what Chiva tries to achive in his tournament. The image he wants to create is also what I like. It is VERY much different from US tournament but I like both of them. As a tournament director should listen to the participants, the partcipants also should follow what TD wants to lead. (If not, you don't need to attend)
Cameras are ugly and somtimes intimidating to new players so I don't mind if Chiva banned all equipments to record. (hopefully hand recording be permitted) Especially in the luxury venue Chiva usually provides, Cameras and Tripods are not beautiful at all.
However as most others say, technology changes the game and not kill it. I have so many young players here in Japan to start backgammon from computers. They found the game on internet, try a game on free site, watch the movie, play against GNU from the first day. They usually don't care about making money. They want to get better. Improving one's game is pure fun, probablly more fun than making money from it.
Hopefully Chiva could market two different types of players. (Not necessarily in the same tournament)
I am wondering if cameras and tripods are accepted in the tournament where people should wear a tie? (I think it is tournament in Chicago by Bill Davis)
By the way, I always bring a pair of leather shoes and suits just in case I win something. I hope players who wins the tournament should be dressed properly, at least in the prize giving and taking pictures. Most of the time this preparetion doesn't work and I have to wear a suit in the last day in the hope of winning the last chance, but all TD's appreciate it anyway.
