Clocks are a separate issue; this thread is about recording and streaming.

But since you brought it up: IMO if a director doesn't require clocks, he or his staff need to keep an eye on the pace of matches, and be willing to impose clocks if they are needed, no matter who the slowpokes are, or how offended they will be. Otherwise, late-night matches are inevitable, and not necessarily for the snails. They may have lost their matches and gone to bed, while their opponents have to play at 2 a.m.

Another peeve: Tournaments that don't start on time. A 15-minute delay isn't bad, but 45 minutes or more is bad--it significantly delays every match in the event, no matter what speed the people play.

One cause of these interminable delays is the auction, if there is one. If they must have a Calcutta, either start it earlier or have a gong handy. It's bad enough to have snails slow down a tournament, without also allowing a dinosaur to do so.
