Yes, I am thinking that it really does not matter.

  • If the dice look OK, they are not likely to be off by much
  • If neither player know it, neither can use it to his advantage
  • And then, any effects apply similarily to both players

What remains are the situations, that you are implying, where one player's ordinarily correct play gets punished for not being correct given the faulty dice, whereas the other player's incorrect play may become correct. So the faulty dice could become a slight equalizer of BG skill, but I think that this is too slight an effect to be worried about - even assuming that I would not be on the side reaping the said benefit.
