What Backgammon Needs to Thrive

Some things we can do (clocks):
1) Bring our digital clocks to all major events (within the security constraint's Mary mentions).
2) Use that clock as often as possible. E.g. if "allowed" then ask opp if s/he would like to play the match with a clock.
3) Donate a clock to a promoter to be used as a prize.
Some things we can do to get young people involved:
1) Teach BG to your young relatives. Of course you need to be diplomatic. Some are too young; some don't care. But in my experience, showing one's own enthusiasm and interest often piques the curiosity of the younger generation.
2) Write a document on why backgammon is a valuable learning tool for young minds.
3) (Much more time consuming, but...) Approach a local high school principle about the possibility of starting a BG club there.
Stick talked about starting a BG site in Canada. Again, a huge undertaking, but maybe he (and/or others) have the time and motivation.
