I haven't commented a lot on this series of positions, but I have been following the threads and I'm glad to see you posting them again.

Over the board, I think I'd still have played the "triple-split" in your variant, but I don't think it's right. I think Mike has it right when he pointed out that what you really want to be doing is bringing down checkers from the midpoint and growing the prime. You can't do that with this roll, but, as he says, spreading the back checkers out means you may be distracted with them next turn and not able to bring down builders then either. With that in mind, b/23 24/23 6/5 makes more sense to me now -- advance the anchor to cut down on gammon losses, and prepare to go to work on containment.
