Value of cube handicap

A fair handicap would be the difference between the cube centred and cube owned equity (with cube at 1.000) for the start position. Where the cube centred equity is zero and both sides have identical gammon rates (which they do in the start position before the first roll) this equity swing = 0.25*x where x is the cube efficiency coefficient with typical value of about 0.7. This implies a fair handicap value of about 0.175 points per game.
Another perhaps superior way of looking at this is to compare the cube centred and cube owned equities for a worse than average opening roll where the equity is close to zero, example 41, and compare cube owned and cube centred equities from high level evaluations (or rollouts). XGR++ evalutaion for 4-1 indicates a difference of equity of 0.180 points per game, which looks like the correct fair handicap.
