Besides things mentioned by others; note that the same error at a score like GG will generate a smaller demerit than it will at 4a2a. To the extent that you could make a comparison, this is true for short match scores and money as well. Nack gave us ratios to normalize this relationship (for other purposes.) I believe they were 8 / 13 / 20 for DMP, GG or GS and money. This makes it easier to have a low PR at match than at money.

The reason for this is that the PR is normalized to the cube size. When you are playing at GS (for example), the worst your error can cost you is two points. When you are playing for money, the mistake you just made can cost you four points or more. Therefore, your error costs more as a percentage of the current cube size for money than for short match.
