One wonders who and why someone would organize a BG T without the Crawford Rule

For starters, it is a variant that is not analysed to a great detail - offering the chance for people to expand their skill to somewhat uncharted territories, instead of just trying to emulate XG. And thus, rewarding those who are willing to do the extra analysis required.

I suspect that the game might even be more interesting without the Crawford rule, than with it - allowing more pronounced odd-even effects in the match strategy, rather than evening it out to become more like money-play.
