Weekly tournament entry fee amount

Maybe it works like multiple side pools.

  • The first pool is $16, available to all.
  • The second pool is $15, available to $2-and-above entries.
  • The third pool is $14, available to $3-and-above entries, and so on.
  • The last pool is $1, available only to player 16.

Case (a):

The first pool ($16) is divided: $8 to player 1 and $4 to players 2 and 3. The second pool ($15) is divided: $7.50 to player 2, and $3.75 to players 3 and 4. The third pool ($14) is divided: $7 to player 3, and $3.50 to players 4 and 5. (And so on.) The last pool ($1) goes to player 16.

Case (b):

For winning, player 16 gets 1/2 of all pools, plus the other half of pool 16 (which nobody else can compete for), a total of $68.50. Player 15 gets 1/4 of pools 1 thru 15 plus the other 1/4 of pool 15, for a total of 34.25. And player 14 gets 1/4 of pools 1 thru 14, a total of $33.25.
