Also, when you remove the money you make the game a better venue for school kids and their families to play....like chess and bridge...and that will help the game grow.

Coming from other games, it was embarrasing for me to see that backgammon is always about money. In my local club (where I'm by far the best player) I play money game for rating points. I really, really would like to see large swiss system tournaments just for rating points in backgammon.
