Get the i7. Also, don't be afraid to overclock. These chips are actually designed to be overclocked; just make sure to get one with a "K" at the end, e.g., i7-4790K which means the chip is unlocked for overclocking. Many modern motherboards support "one click" overclocking where everything is done for you automatically. Also, make sure to get an aftermarket CPU cooler; some liquid coolers are inexpensive these days and do a great job.

If you are not overclocking, you are only using at most 60-70% of chip's capability.
