I didn't know you could get XG to tell you how many positions per second it can do, till I saw your post--thanks!

My i5 chip at 3.0GHz is doing 3.85M pos/sec, so there must be something going on besides the chip type and the speed. Maybe whatever the other people here are talking about, not all of which I get.

Do you have a lot of background stuff going on that is competing for your resources?
