I don't think it can be right to leave White a direct shot when the race is close and she has a four-point board, so I'd start by playing 16/8. Then we can play totally safe with 17/13 7/3, or leave 3 shots with 17/9, or leave 6 shots with 8/4(2) or 13/9(2). I think that the value of making the 4pt (strengthening our board and prime and filling in an annoying gap) is worth the few shots, especially since White has a blot in her board.
