I would have liked to weigh in on the original question but you never provided the info. Before commenting I'd have liked to know:

  • Who you were playing. At least the estimated level of your opponent.
  • What the time controls were.
  • What your clock (and opp's) currently were at.
  • How comfortable you are playing on low time in general. Some people get freakspastastic when their time is low and others could play an entire match under control with a second on their clock assuming a 12 second delay.

There are other details that would be a bonus to know too like the recent sequence that brought you to this position or what you knew going into the position about the score/cube implications.

Without the information answering the question feels to me like when I get an email "Early limper and I had AQ suited 4 off the button with an M of 15, what should I have done?"
