In Response To: 31 for White (John O'Hagan)

Thanks, John, for posting an interesting position. Let's freeze 29 of the 30 checkers on the board and vary the location of White's outfield blot. Then let's determine two positions, one pip apart, in which Blue should make different plays. As White's blot advances, Blue has more incentive to hit. Where is the break-even point between hit and no hit?

Examples of positions in which White's outfield blot varies are given below.

White is Player 2

score: 0
pip: 73
Unlimited Game
Jacoby Beaver
pip: 70
score: 0

Blue is Player 1

Blue to play 31
