Why is 3(2) out of the discussion?
I've also changed my mind. Winning this game involves escape, hit, containment. The last of these is more difficult holding the 2-point and 8-point simultaneously. We may at some point choose to abandon the 8-point, but presently it's valuable for landing and from an efficiency standpoint (given our limited homeside building power) we can't afford checkers on both.
So after 6/3 we still have a decision between 6/5 and 4/3. 63 plays better after 4/3. 65 is bad after either. 6/4 is a bit better after 6/5 but still playable (as 8/4, 8/2) after 4/3. 66 favors 4/3. 62 runs the back checker. 6/1 is a bit better after 6/5. 54 is a bit better after 4/3. 43 does cover after 4/3 but at the cost of the 8-point whereas this roll plays nicely (13/6) after 6/5.
It looks close, and since I don't think my question is going to open up a new discussion channel this late in the process, I'll go with 6/5, 6/3.
