I wouldn't have considered 20/18 or 6/4, nor would I have expected the cube to matter a lot.
4/2* functions as a tempo hit since White has plenty of constructive possibilities if given her full roll. The trouble is that with Blue having only a high anchor and so many blots, dropping down to approximately the same board strength as White is going to lose a ton of gammons.
Okay, now I see what you mean by Jacoby, because maybe we don't lose that many gammons if White can't double from the bar. I'm doubtful though.
Anyway, at first I wanted to hit but I'm talking myself into playing safe.
