There is a feature on XG that you may be familiar with. If I am correct, there is no difference in the match winning chances of a 3 vs 5 and an 8 vs. 10. But, IMHO, there is a huge difference in the time and effort it takes to advance to a 3 from a 5, than to an 8 from a 10. I think most fairly intelligent players could advance from a 10 to an 8 within a few months of serious study. OTH, most 5 PR players can never become 3.0 level players and the few that can will, likely, require much longer than a few months and it will require much more serious study.
