You have asked the correct question; I have highlighted the important part. As you may have inferred from the responses, the answer is "not much."

However, recording of backgammon matches is getting increasingly common. In my opinion, it is only a matter of time before some takes the time to do a systematic data analysis of the sort you're looking for. If you are feeling energetic, you could start doing it yourself. A good starting point would be Othello's database.
