SW4 counts forced moves in denominator?

SW2 did not. SW3 did. GNU-bg does not. I don't have SW4 so I don't know but suspect it is similar to SW3 in this aspect.

Did you ever see Harald Johanni's page with error rates? (I don't think they are still listed.) Those were a combination of matches he recorded (by hand, I believe) and voluntary submissions. The numbers there were smaller (he used SW3). The best players were ~2.0. So if SW4 scores similarly to SW3 then your theory of selective voluntary submissions has some evidence for its veracity. :)
