After a hit blue gets some chances to obtain a 3-1 backgame or actually a proto-backgame (since the bar-point is still open).

Give Dillie's a 43 roll, then give us a 51. That's a pretty good response but how good is the resulting backgame? The timing looks very suspect.

Regarding a 'proto-backgame' that would presumably be either 18-24 (not at all good) or 18-22. This latter is (in my limited experience/study) not profitable either. I think two point anchor games which involve the opponent's barpoint (18-point) just don't work out very often, unless the opponent has serious structural flaws -- not the case here.

I agree that we get some wins out of these life-after-death scenarios, but we also get gammoned sometimes....
