I fail to see why there would be a different decision here? I see only 3 differences in the variation: a longer rollout, the variation has the Jacoby rule in effect, and white's spares are located differently. I fail to see how the location of spares can make a difference here. Is it because the race is 3 pips closer in the variation? Can someone shed some light on this, please?
