The reason Chuck did an XGR+ rollout is because Mr. Rockwell didn't trust a 3-ply rollout in this position.

I don't know where you got this from but I doubt it's true. I'm guessing Chuck did a + rollout because it was near the end of the game, there's no cube involved, so it will be virtually as quick as a 3 ply rollout so why not? There's no reason whatsoever to think 3 ply wouldn't play this out decently as most moves are near forced.
