The argument is the same one I would have given. I was waiting for someone else to do it so I wouldn't have to. Let's review.

First, we definitely want and need to pick up the second checker to spike our winning chances. Don't stop there though, we want to pick up the second checker and close them both out.

If we don't bust the board low now with the deuce we may never roll that ace or deuce when we do want to. We also won't have the same amount of time needed to potentially recirculate checkers until we pick up the second blot.

If you do something like 'I can potentially leave a blot on the 4pt with 4/off later' it's just too late. From there you've opened up a high point and the higher the point you open the less chance you have of reclosing it later and the easier it is for the opponent to escape when he does enter.
