Donkey Question--More complete terminology

I use the following terms in my lessons:
Dead Cube Take point. That is risk/risk+reward and does not consider gammons or backgammons.
Live Cube Take Point. That is the Dead Cube Take point after factoring in potential cube vig at the given score.
Effective Live Cube Take Point: That is the more "realistic" live cube take point to apply given the fact that we rarely have a perfectly efficient recube. For example, in a money game, XG shows the Dead Cube Take Point of 25% and the Live Cube Take Point of 20 percent. I use an Effective Live Cube Take point of 21.5 as that is more applicable for more situations than 20 percent. Of course you must adjust this for the type of position and how much game is left. I have convinced Xavier to include this number in a future version of XG as I believe this is what really helps you make most cube decisions. At some match scores the difference between live and effective live can be significant.
Gammon-Adjusted Take Point: This is the effective live cube take point adjusted for gammons and backgammons. There are several approaches to getting to this number and most people completely forget to factor in backgammons when calculating this. I learned a fairly accurate and detailed approach from John O'Hagan which I simplified for myself and others with poorer over-the-board math skills. I have found that my approach is usually within 1 percent of John's, which is close enough considering I'm rarely within 1 percent of estimating the wins and gammons of a given position.
I hope the above helps rather than confuses you more, but with some study and practice learning and applying the above over the board is usually not that difficult unless you are in a very complicated position or at a score you are not familiar with.
