Karol's computation of "average market loss" compares our actual equity with how much equity we would have had if we had doubled, but I think it's a bit confusing to do that when the cube decision has already been (correctly) made and we're assessing the checker-play decision. We're not directly losing that equity by making the blitzing play; rather, it's how much equity we would lose compared to an imaginary world in which we have doubled. That reasoning is a bit too convoluted for my taste.

I would instead say that the centered cube means that after blitzing, your best sequences are capped at +1.000 while your worst sequences don't even let you double. It's more important to avoid the bad sequences than to add a few more +1.000 sequences.
