I, too, have seen worse.

In the video, however, there was one case where a second play was tried without first resetting the checkers. Half the move was reset, but the other half was not. The rest of the time, the checkers were properly reset before trying alternative moves.

Another thing you can see in the video is a clever move where three checkers are moved with one hand. Rather than playing each checker two or four pips, this is carried out by moving one checker from the 8pt to the 5pt, another from the 7pt to the 4pt, and the last one from the 6pt to the 4pt. Because the player's hand was covering the checkers during most of the move, I was at first unsure of its legality.

The current rules on both sides of the pond, require moving unambiguously. I thought this action skirted close to the line, and may have crossed over.

One of my pet peeves is moves that are played illegally, but nevertheless arrive at a legal result. Playing 8/5, 7/4, 6/4 rather than 8/4, 7/5, 6/4 is an example. When they are allowed, I end up having to be more vigilant than usual.
