Neil: Surely white must look to blot on the 2 pt immediately with a 21 hit and ASAP anyway to leave the juicy 21 return, rather than waiting for the bear off.

It's not clear to me when or if white should play for the root numbers. I think blue wins around 18% with 12 off and 2 checkers on the ace point so may be best to see how the bearoff goes rather than giving white chances to enter earlier.
